Camera crew, 1954 U.S. Women’s Open
Early USGA championships were recorded on film by various newsreel companies, including Movietone News and Universal Newsreel. In 1947, the U.S. Open was broadcast locally on television for the first time.

Today, USGA championships are broadcast to more than 50 million viewers in more than 160 countries. Each year, more than 70 hours of championship broadcast footage are added to the USGA Museum's archive.
